Public land boundaries are available in 46 States (not available in Alaska, Delaware, Rhode Island and South Carolina)
Western US State public land data was obtained from the US Bureau of Land Management State offices and range in date from 2010 to 2014. These states include boundaries for federal lands including National Forests and Grasslands, National Wildlife Refuges, National Parks, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Indian reservations, military and Department of Energy lands, and state boundaries including State Trust Lands, State parks, forests, and other State areas.
Western States include:

South Dakota (west)
Eastern US States and Hawaii public land data was obtained from State sources, and generally includes State Parks and Forest, Wildlife Management Areas, federal lands including National Forest and National Wildlife Refuges, and other public lands including State Game Lands. The content of this overlay varies by the State source, and were acquired between 2010 and 2013. The public land overlay in these states will show federal and state lands and include the public land area name if available.
