Does the Mobile App Work in Remote Areas?

Yes. Our technology allows smartphones to work off-the-grid, even in far remote areas. You don't need a cell or data signal to pinpoint your GPS location. No AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, or T-Mobile signals required. Our app taps into the phone's built-in GPS chip which reads the same GPS signals that a standalone outdoor GPS does. In fact, some newer phones can even locate international GPS satellites too.

However, if you are headed to a remote destination, you need to download offline maps onto your device before you go. We offers several solutions for downloading Off-The-Grid Maps.

Note: iPad (Wifi-only models) don't have a GPS chip in them.
